It must be emphasised in this contest that regular checking of investments and potential investments is essential. It is all to easy to miss a sudden major gain when profits should be taken. One contestant was 30% ahead, but only for one day! Individual contestants can have site access and can do their own research, but the Staff have to do the actual trading.

How to trade profitably - Some hints. It is possible to trade a stock -(buy and sell it as it hopefully makes gains.) It is also possible to react to a sudden unexplained downturn in a stock by taking a speculative buy. In the contest the spread in price can be a major factor - Buying a stock can give a big instant loss on the spread! This has to be made up before you can sell at profit! "Penny shares" allow you to have thousands of shares, but this can be risky on big spreads. However such stocks can (and do) often make substantial moves on relatively little trading. They MUST though be watched carefully! Note I am NOT indicating which shares we are holding, for obvious reasons! I also hold stock in some of the companies listed below.

Jan 20th.09 Update prior to results in April. Shows strong trading, with a healthy cash balance. Shares currently at the year high. "Could approach that level again prior to results as it is likely to benefit from Govt investments in the economy." was last comment! Director buys announced Jan 22nd - (continuing a series of buys)

Sunday Jan 18th. 09 BBC News carried a long story re the acceptance in Scotland of the trials for the Stroke therapy the company is developing. This will begin "next year", in Glasgow, initially as safety trials. Potentially the idea of Stem Cell Therapy could be a major medical revolution! 19th. Shares show 170% gain on the news! From 3p to 8p! It is possible that the FDA in USA may also allow USA trials too now that the Gov't has changed. 22nd. US giving Go-ahead for spinal injuries treatment trials by Geron suggests that USA trials for Reneuron may also now get the green light. Very high volumes today siggest that there could be more mileage in this stratospheric climb (Now 14.5p!)

There is a $15m deal with Newmont, subscribing (for shares at 5p equal to10% of the total capital) There are also 17m warrants. Exploration licenses have been transferred under this agreement. Deal Dec. 24th! Traded over 10p in 2008! Could be headed back there, but the stock is now nack at the Newmont buy level! Could that be significant?
2010 There is new activity which will almost certainly involve a share issue of some form. (2011 not happened so far) Previous management were planning to delist, but the plans now look very interesting. Worth a (long term - say a year) punt. This has risen OVER 400% since that plan failed!

August 4th/6th 2010 The Renato website was off line for a short while. The reason is now evident - There is a proposed merger "nearing completion". This should be finalised by about August 20th if all goes to plan. It SOUNDS good (on paper) and there may also be an unrestricted - (not rule 144) share offering as well.

Jan 19th 09. Trading statement shows excellent growth etc! The shares rallied a little, but IMHO they looked very undervalued at the then current 1p! Shares now consolidated 100 into 1
