I have no financial interest in any of the sites linked from this page. The top panel refers to the software used for the site.

In some cases click on the site logo. Others see the blue text.

Any suggestions for other links please e.mail and I can add them.

A few golden rules:-

Don't invest with money you can't afford to lose (or at least tie up for a while)

Don't chase a rocketing shareprice.

Don't borrow to invest. This fuelled the Nasdaq boom in the US and was a factor in the subsequent collapse as lenders called in the loans.

Set Stop losses and move up if the share does, but if a slide starts, ACT on them.

If you make a good gain, SELL HALF and run the rest for free.

Take Bulletin Board advice only at your own risk. Beware new posts from new members!

Anybody suggest any more?

Links fine with Outlook.

Please feel free to E.mail.

This site has a very good source for data. You can register and pay for extra data. You can level the field here.

ADVFN have recently upgraded their server etc. They had outgrown the older capacity and had experienced difficulties. Since then all has been fine. Database updates are after the UK market closes. Streaming prices are now the default setting.

Yahoo! You have a portfolio option here. You can track real or hypothetical investments. The site has links to other data sources for research. New facility re trade data.

Register as a user in UK or US.

You can access the Yahoo! database directly for UK traded stocks. The links from this website (top line) use such links.

Nasdaq UK. Gives time delayed prices and has links to other data providers. They provide other, more detailed information. The availability of data varies a great deal between companies.

Sharepages allows you access to the RNS service and lets you set up a ticker watchlist amongst other things.Membership needed.

The RNS files on Sharepages are an excellent source of data.(See my unofficial company pages) They do not give you any summaries as such, but the index they give of previous entries is simple to use, and you can paste easily into notepad or another wp program for your own reference. Annual Report files tend to be large!

iii Provides a range of data. You can set up a portfolio in UK and US stocks. There is also a bulletin board system for every stock they list. Excellent charting onsite.

I note that iii are offering "Streaming price data". This will put the small investor on a par with the rest, assuming it is real time. The charge is £15.00. However, with most small stocks the actual number of trades is quite low on most days. Check with, say ADVFN for free to see if there are enough trades to justify taking up the iii offer. Recent merger has added to the services.
