  78 rpm (see 1st table)

These are, by definition fragile, since the base material is shellac. Some are in album cases as sets or as collections, related or otherwise. I have several "society" issues, notably those by the Sibelius Society.

Long Players and early 7" 45 and 33.3 rpm. (2nd table)

I have some early mono LPS, mainly "classical" but also a few popular. There is a series of Decca 10" albums which suited some works since the playing time was ideal for shorter works

Shellac Records are very fragile and risky to post!

The 12" 78 gave a playing time of around 4 mins. Most "classical" works are longer, so the side breaks were in unintended (by the composer) places. Sometimes tempi were altered to fit more music on a side, or to reach a better "break" point. This makes the work of the remastering engineer interesting and difficult! (E) = Electrical Recordings.

Various Artists 10" LP. On the Decca label mostly.

This format was ideal for shorter works. Interestingly, recently the format size has been revived but cut at 45rpm usually for "pop" music "single" releases. (Too long for the 7"!)
